Backpack Program 2017-2018 Update
Our backpack program is working in cooperation with the International Academy of Saginaw and the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. If you have ever wondered what it’s like to be a volunteer for the backpack program, the pictures below illustrate some of the steps we go through on a typical backpacking day. We work with the school staff and students putting together individual food and snack packages for weekend distribution to those students in need. The whole process is a commitment of approximately two hours every other week for a typical backpacking session. Please use the “sign up” sheet in the parlor should you choose to volunteer for this outreach program.
